Well, it appears that the so called Suitcase bike that I reported on back on April 11th is more than a concept. Apparently, it's now in production and will be available sometime later this year. A prototype of the bike was on display last week at the Canton Fair in China.
Following is an animated video that demonstrates how the suitcase bike folds and unfolds (I also expect to have specs and photos soon from the factory and will post them ASAP). MSRP on the bike is believed to be USD $399.

The bicycle seems very usefull
But I'm a little afraid to see what it means with somebody riding on.
It seems kind of odd to me that they used the gun loading sound effects from Counter Strike... cool idea though, I'd buy one for $399

So it's been over a year.... what happened with its availability?
okay so this is a suitcase bike. it looks too good to be true. theres just one question that i am pondering on. Can you put stuff inside it while the wheels and the seat is inside it? im thinkin you can only put stuff in it when you ride it. and if there gonna make you pay that much for it when you have to do everything manualy why dont they put a motor on it, give oyu more room, and have a button you push that makes the wheels and stuff go inside.
Yes, this bike has limitations but there are situations in which only a bike like this will work (such as getting past many of the building security guards in NYC that absolutely forbid bikes inside).
As to space for carrying other items, if the factory ever sends one, I'll let you know how much it can carry (besides the bike bits).
